Start with a decision
A camera can provide a view of an environment. Operational value depends on what a team can do with that view. Before defining detections or dashboards, identify the decision that needs better information and the person responsible for making it.
Give the event context
An event becomes more useful when it is connected to time, location and the surrounding activity. Define what information a reviewer needs to distinguish routine activity from an exception. A clear review process matters as much as the signal itself.
Design the response
Decide how an event reaches the right person, how it is reviewed and what happens afterward. Start with a focused use case, observe the workflow in practice and refine it before expanding across locations.
